Abstract
The Dossier is dedicated to disseminating, remembering, contributions that Professor Alberto
M. Sobrero, anthropologist from the La Sapienza University of Rome conducted between 2005
and early 2021 to the Social Anthropology and Cultural in Uruguay. He was an enthusiast of
the Italy-Uruguay academic exchanges, he promoted links between institutions, researchers
and students. He was assiduous in his collaborations with our magazines, gave postgraduate
courses at the FHCE, published numerous works, was interested in deepening the relationship
of anthropology with other disciplines, mainly urbanism, literature. A teacher of our time, which
brought us closer to his knowledge, his training as a convinced humanist.
The Dossier includes: text by A. Sobrero himself, Notes from his course in the Master’s
Degree in Anthropology of the La Plata Basin Region, notes by S. Romero Gorski, A. Goñi
