About the Journal
Uruguayan Review of Anthropology and Ethnography. Semi-annual publication that publishes original and unpublished articles and reports on relevant and evaluated academic life production. This year 2016 there is no longer the Yearbook of Social and Cultural Anthropology in Uruguay to become a new publication marked by the demands of transformation, by new rules of the game that allow us not only to overcome the long time elapsed, between 2000 and 2015, but start with renewed energies a stage more in line with the universal academic canons. With subtle differences in identification, we now begin the journey of the Uruguayan Journal of Anthropology and Ethnography. As the name suggests, the publication is placed more in the center of the Anthropological Sciences, contemplating the potential of an internal diversity, while maintaining and emphasizing the vocation of ethnographic observation, analysis and writing about objects, relationships, towns, cities, identities, cultural phenomena in general. RUAE is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available and free of charge for the user, author or their institution. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link the complete texts of the articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without asking prior permission of the editor or the author.
