Abstract

This reductionist mentality is reflected in education, where simplification and external validation are valued over critical reflection and active participation, thus restricting the contributing capacities and autonomy of individuals and areas. To overcome these challenges, it is essential to reformulate education to promote a more comprehensive understanding of reality, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, self-direction, active learning, interdisciplinarity and the learning community.
