Abstract

This article presents, in general, theorizing Rodney Arismendi -First Secretary of the Communist Party of Uruguay 1955-1987, founder of the Frente Amplio and deputy for an extended period- on "Advanced Democracy" and "Advancing democracy" as a way to socialism and compared with the approaches of García Linera - leader of the bolivian Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) and current Vice President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia- and with the theoretical euro- communist Nicos Poulantzas, in which the Bolivian political and thinker is based . These authors address problematic theoretical issues in Marxism as the state, democracy, socialist democracy and ways of revolution in their respective theories, which are analyzed in this paper.
