Natalia de LeónBorn in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1983. Visual artist, independent photographer and contemporary photography critic. Bachelor of Arts in Université Paris VIII Vincennes-Saint-Denis and a degree in Communication at Udelar.

Abstract

Since 2011 he is a member of the Contemporary Art Foundation (fac) in Montevideo, developing his work of research and artistic production in the film laboratory, where he organizes and produces conferences, workshops, master classes, artist clinics, courses, festivals and coordination of cultural activities in conjunction with other artistic centers and with state and private agencies, national and international. He collaborates with texts of analysis on photography and contemporary art in Uruguayan publications, and is a member of the Colectiva Co (COCO) along with three other artists, from which Uruguayan contemporary art, education and artistic production are fostered. During 2017 COCO exhibited the sample Ascendancy, offspring in London, Paris and Montevideo. Since 2009 he participates in national and international artistic shows and actions. In 2013 he participated in the first exhibition of Contemporary Photography "In the place of the Said", curated by José Antonio Navarrete. She was selected in the Paul Cézanne Prize in 2014 and 2018, in the 2014 Visual Arts National Prize and obtained a mention in the Photography Award of the MEC and the Photography Center 2018. In 2016 she participated in "X Mulier Mulieris" in the Museum of the University of Alicante. Currently his artistic research is framed in the academic work of the Master's in Contemporary Philosophy at UdelaR and work with Professor François Soulages of the University Vincennes - Saint Denis, Paris VIII.
